248 seconds of 2017

I thought it was a novel idea; you use an app to record one second of every day of your life. At the end of the week, or month, or year, you can watch a video of your life flashing in front of your eyes. I did this throughout 2017 and it was fun, and sometimes a burden, and I didn’t start until late March and missed an additional 81 days, but it turned out to be a unique and enjoyable way to document my life.

I didn’t expect the themes that emerged – like how one second I’m watching a John Mayer concert and the next I’m watching a middle school band concert – and I’ll also need to think of something other than my dogs to video on the days I forget to do something more interesting.  But what I really love the most is the smile I can’t wipe off my face when watching the end-of -year 2017 video, because I’m reminded of how thankful I am to live my life.
